In 2025, York Regional Police hosted an Interfaith Iftar for the second time.
The event brings together hundreds of community members, representing a variety of faiths across York Region, to mark the end of Ramadan and the breaking of fast for those celebrating.
The Iftar also presents a rare opportunity for faith leaders to come together and share a meal while sharing their own diverse perspectives and experiences.
This year brought extra cause for celebration with the launch of an Interfaith Council, a community-driven initiative, creating space for cross-cultural conversations and initiatives to improve community safety.
