Our Accomplishments
York Regional Police is proud to serve more than 1.2 million residents living in York Region, one of Canada’s fastest growing and most-diverse communities.
The hard work and dedication of our 2,652 members has resulted in our reputation as a national leader in law enforcement and crime prevention. Our members are honoured to serve York Region, patrolling areas ranging from serene rural landscapes to urban cityscapes. We ensure the safety and security of residents of more than 230 ethnic origins, practicing more than 10 different religions and speaking more than 120 languages. Our members are guided by our motto, mission, vision and values to make a difference in our community.

Beyond our core responsibilities set out in the Community Safety and Policing Act, York Regional Police operates under the guidance of a business plan, which is published every three years.
Our 2023-2025 Business Plan is guided by four key priorities:
